DEPUTY Prime Minister Wissanu Krea-ngam said yesterday that he would send a letter to ThaiPBS to ask for more information regarding its investment in debentures from Charoen Pokphand Foods (CPF), after concerns were raised about the integrity and good governance of the public broadcaster.
SOMKIAT TANGKITVANICH, a drafter of the law setting up Thai Public Broadcasting Service in 2007, Tuesday raised ethical questions about the station’s investment in debentures from Charoen Pokphand Foods, a powerful agroindustrial conglomerate.
THAI PUBLIC Broadcasting Service might welcome another commercial broadcaster as a new lessor for its digital television-transmission network, which would take revenue for this business to more than Bt500 million this year.
